FAQ
What is your general approach?
My focus is on helping you to: 1) figure out what really matters to you (aka your values) and 2) learn skills to manage what gets in the way of that path. I am trained in evidence-based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
What's the process for online sessions?
For sessions I use HIPAA-protected Google Meet video chat.
What do I need to ensure good quality for my virtual appointment?
A private space. It will be difficult for us to focus if you’re getting interrupted a lot during the sessions.
A good internet connection of broadband (wifi or ethernet) or at least 4G phone data.
Headphones/earbuds with a microphone are recommended, as they block out other noise and help with clarity.
What are your fees and do you take insurance?
Fees are $275 per therapy hour (50-minute sessions).
Currently I am in-network for Cigna. Otherwise I can offer a superbill that you can take to your insurance for out-of-network benefits.
What is your therapy style or focus?
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and prioritize valued living -- living in a way that is congruent with who you want to be. Sometimes it can be pretty straightforward to get there, and sometimes we need to figure out alternatives for the ways that you currently cope with stress, frustrations or disappointments. CBT explores how our thoughts, emotions and behaviors interact, all influenced by attention as well. It is a rich, satisfying and evidence-based way to learn more about yourself and apply what works in the service of those core values you hold.
I come to this work with a wide perspective on what a fulfilling life can be. My hope with is that we build a strong, trusting relationship and that what happens in our sessions has a meaningful, positive impact on your everyday life and the directions you choose to go.
